Thrift Town focuses on curating (hand-selecting) unique, trendy, new looking vintage clothing, and get these from selected suppliers (not the general public) and sell them at affordable prices. We also accept donations gladly.

 

We bought over Thrift Town in 2022, after the previous owners have built up the foundation of the shop during 2021. A big team of us is running the store on a daily basis, friendly welcoming either and everyone to pay a visit, scrolling the few isles in our cosy shop for that treasure you just might have been looking for - for a long long time!

After opening the new store on the first day in January 2023, we were at first quiet and even discouraged as we weren't sure if this shop has been a viable purchase. But then, the very next day, the business unexpectedly BOOMED, and we were so thrown into the deep end, suddenly had to run an extremely busy store, while our price setting, other systems, etc. were not even in order yet.

It is going better and better by the day.

​

Unfortunately, due to theft that immediately occurred as soon as we opened, we were left no choice than to UPGRADE the store and merchandise immediately, to attract another type of client - the SERIOUS THRIFT SHOPPER, who is genuinely looking for a quality clothing item at a good value, and not only a bargain for the sake of survival.

If you visit our store NOW, you will see the HUGE change we are making in our stock! Due to high demand (and circumstances), we decided to build a completely NEW kind of high-quality stock.

Consumers often complain that resale stores are filled with an abundance of low-quality and over-priced options that are time-consuming to wade through.

The Solution

A HAND-PICKED collection of quality VINTAGE AND CONTEMPORARY used clothing, in particular high-end retro clothing, accessories, shoes, jewelery (the stuff many of you so far have come to search for but haven’t yet found!). Also other related merchandise and records. So we save you the trouble and select each and every item that we hang on our shelves for you, choosing only the best!

There’s also a request for themed PARTY clothing

(more of you than expected are looking for that special party outfit).

Our aim is to stock cool, unique, and truly one-of-a-kind items offered at sensible prices, with friendly and superior customer service that brings consistent customers.

We're also building our UK jackets and coats collection, that are constantly filling our rails.

I'm Annien, the owner now of Thrift Town, and a Cape Townian thrifting enthusiast who loves the thrill of finding something interesting, unique and affordable in the shops.

I started this thrift clothing business to share my passion for fashion and love for secondhand shopping, always preferring shopping at thrift stores and vintage shops.

​

My thrifting journey started during living two years in London. Having thrifted for years now, 85% of my wardrobe is packed with vintage clothes.

Thrift Town runs one of the most popular thrift stores in Durbanville, with a mission to provide stylish new and gently used products at a low cost for all age groups and genders.

Thrift Town opened in 2022 and is under new management since January 2023.

You can always expect to find stunning pieces in the store with the inventory constantly changing.

Thrift Town Vintage store is owned by Annien Botha and her immediate family members. Annien Botha is a high-end vintage secondhand clothing enthusiast, she has a BHome Economics Degree and ITEC Beauty diplomas, with over 15 years’ experience in the fashion/clothing and beauty industries.
